Berry Impressive

Tim Berry was an athlete of the week in the March 24th North County Times:

“Tim Berry, San Marcos Baseball: The junior left-hander won a pair of Lions Tournament games. He no-hit Linfield Christian over six innings with 12 strikeouts. He also homered in that game. In the semifinals of the 2A Division, he threw four innings and didn’t allow a run while striking out seven.”

And Shelly sent a link to an another article in the March 28th North County Times about Tim:

“Tim Berry has been virtually unhittable these past few weeks. The El Camino High baseball team scratched out only two infield hits against the San Marcos ace during the Knights’ 3-1 victory in the North County Times Tournament, reflecting a trend started in early March. The left-hander has thrown 16 consecutive scoreless innings over his last three starts, including Thursday’s six-inning, 10-strikeout effort against the Wildcats. Berry has struck out 29 during the hot streak, aided by a well-placed fastball and a knee-buckling curveball that leaves hitters baffled.”

Wild Animals

Amber, Paige and I spent the afternoon at the San Diego Wild Animal Park for a special girls day out. I really love those kids. We all had fun, but I think I was probably more excited then they were to see all the animals. These two are growing up too fast! The pictures link to the photo album:

20 Million Animals

Congratulations to the Humane California effort, which submitted nearly 800,000 signatures to the Registrar of Voters last week in support of the Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty Act! (Around 430,000 valid signatures were needed for the initiative to be placed on the November general election ballot.) Thanks to the hard work of countless volunteers California voters will have an opportunity voice their opinion this November!!

While polling suggests Californians overwhelmingly support the Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty Act, not everyone believes humane farming is a good thing. Some insight from an article in the February 29th Oakland Tribune:

Jake and KK

Little Jake stayed over for three whole days. It’s been a while since Mike and I had a baby sleep-over, and we were not entirely sure what to do. Feeding him cartoons and milk seemed to keep him content. I think he had fun. He was very good, understood all of our words, and by day three he was not afraid of Henry any more.
